How it Works

The Best New Product Awards prides itself on being the most credible consumer product award in North America because of what it is not. The Best New Product Awards is not decided by Juries, Panels, or Editorial bias. It is exclusively voted by a national sample of thousands of consumers.

All new and innovative products in Food & Beverage, Health & Personal Care, Beauty, Household, Pet, Kid and Home Goods categories launched between July 1st of the previous calendar year, and October 15th of the current calendar year are eligible to participate.

We support your new products upon entry with our New & Noteworthy campaign including a dedicated landing page, homepage ad, email broadcasts, and dedicated social posts on Shopper Army’s social media channels. Entrants also have access to the New Launch Nominee logo to highlight their products as Nominees on their own marketing materials.

Thousands of consumers participate in the Best New Product Awards survey and vote on products from categories in which they purchase and/or have tried before. Consumers vote on product appeal and repurchase intent.

Products that score the highest in their categories win the highly-coveted best new product awards title and have access to use the winner’s logo on their product and all materials associated with the product, indefinitely. Winners are showcased on ShopperArmy.com as well as BestNewProductAwards.com

How are the products selected?

The Best New Product Awards is open to all manufacturers to enter their new food and beverage, health and beauty, household care, kids, pet and tech products. We include categories most relevant to current consumer trends and attitudes.

Who votes?

Thousands of real Canadian shoppers are invited to vote on the products via an online survey. We conduct an extensive screening to ensure the voters are the principal shoppers for their homes and purchase products in the category they are voting on.

How does scoring work?

Each product receives a score based on the repurchase intent of consumers who have tried the product, and how appealing shoppers find the product to be. Our proprietary scoring system engages real shoppers who have actually tried the product and are prepared to repurchase it again – a very high standard.

How are categories set?
Categories are new each year and are set based on that years’ product innovation and trends. Each product is part of a category that consists of a minimum of two products from at least two different manufacturers. This ensures no single company can buy a win.
